Toxic faith

This is a pretty… loaded term but it’s a big thing with me. It really grinds my gears when I hear “Christians”say things like “God hates Gays” or “you’re going to hell if you get an abortion” etc etc etc.

You know, those people who cherry pick a verse from the Bible and use it to defend hate speech and their own bigoted fears. I get it. You’re scared, unsure and have been guided in the wrong direction by false prophets. But… that doesn’t make it right.

I’m not a popular Christian in a traditional sense. I believe an religion’s are connected. All Gods, creators etc are of the same origin. God came to us as we needed him in our culture, time and understanding. The creator, the universe, the energies, the gods and goddesses. I believe God intended for humanity to live, love and serve. I believe he sent his son to earth to remind us of his true direction for humanity. Not to blindly follow societal laws (what to wear, what to eat, who is worthy). He sent His son to live and die for us to show us the way, the truth and the life. I believe we are supposed to love everyone, treat everyone with respect and forgiveness and serve others.

No. That does not mean we need to forgive abusers or adulterers (though for your mental health it is definitely got to forgive, just don’t forget) that means… just because you don’t agree with someone’s sexual preference, right, choice of living, etc etc etc you don’t get to hate them.

Yes. God gave humanity free will.

Yes. The Bible has societal rules and laws the leaders of the faith traditions of that time believed would bring them closer to God.

No. That does not make it right.

It is 2021. We are educated and have the ability to think for ourselves. You cannot know what God, the creator, the universe etc is thinking. No human can. What we can know is what Jesus brought us in the new testament. 10 commandments, the golden rule. He sat with everyone Society deemed unclean or unworthy to show society they were wrong.

Christians should be more like Jesus which… is kinda the whole point…

If you need a safe place, a place to learn about God, ask questions and be loved as God intended… you’re in the right place

I am actually working on several books on the subject. Why are we losing Christians in the church? Because the church isn’t following Jesus, that’s why.
